One Family Reportedly Died in Mukomuko, Suspected of Haemorrhagic Fever, Including an 8-Months Pregnant Woman

BENGKULU, BETVNEWS - A family in Lubuk Sanai Village, XIV Koto Subdistrict, Mukomuko Regency, BENGKULU Province, has reportedly passed away due to being affected by Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (Deman Berdarah Dengue).

One family consisting of a father, mother, daughter, and granddaughter (stillbirth), passed away on the same day, Sunday, August 13, 2023.

Andi Saputra, the Secretary of Lubuk Sanai Village, stated that the first family diagnosed with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever was the daughter, Herwilin, who is currently 8 months pregnant.

Initially, she was taken to Mukomuko Regional General Hospital and then referred to a hospital in Padang, West Sumatra Province. Following that, the mother, Rislaini, was also confirmed positive for Dengue Fever and was taken to Mukomuko Regional Hospital.

"After her 8-month pregnant daughter was taken to Padang and tested positive for dengue fever, her mother, Rislaini, was also rushed to the Mukomuko District General Hospital (Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah) with the same diagnosis of dengue fever," explained Andi (Monday, August 14, 2023).

Then on Sunday evening at 4PM, the father, Firmansyah passed away at home, followed by Rislaini who was also carried home but shortly after also took her last breath. Most unfortunate news was arrived, when the expectant daughter followed Firmansyah and Rislaini's departure. Herwilin died with her child in Padang about 8.30 p.m.

Andi hopes, that the local government can take immediate action to address this dengue fever disease.

Meanwhile, After the day of incident of the unfortunate family, The Mukomuko District Health Service has swiftly carried out fogging in residential areas, specifically in the Lubuk Sanai Village.

Bustam Bustomo, the Head of Mukomuko District Health Services, stated that they conducted fogging to break the chain of dengue fever transmission in the Lubuk Sanai Village.

"This afternoon (Monday), we have carried out fogging around the affected houses, and we also conducted fogging within a 200-meter radius around the funeral home," Bustam explained (Monday, August 14, 2023).
